Publixly's policy on AI-generated content, transparency, and human oversight of all published articles.

Our Position on AI

Publixly uses AI as a research and writing tool, not as a content generator. All published content is:

  • Substantially human-written — AI assists but doesn't replace human authorship
  • Fact-checked rigorously — Every claim verified against sources
  • Transparently disclosed — Reader knows when AI was used
  • Editorially reviewed — Human review before publication

What AI is Used For

Permitted Uses

  1. Research assistance — Identifying sources and summarizing information
  2. Outline generation — Creating article structure from research
  3. Clarity editing — Rephrasing for readability
  4. Citation formatting — Organizing and formatting sources
  5. Code generation — Writing website code and infrastructure
  6. Brainstorming — Generating ideas and topic angles

Not Permitted

  • Generating original claims — No AI-generated "facts"
  • Publishing unreviewed AI drafts — All AI output reviewed
  • Replacing fact-checking — AI cannot verify sources
  • Creating fake sources — AI cannot create citations
  • Generating author content — Articles attributed to real authors only

  1. Article footer — If article used AI assistance
  2. About page — General AI usage policy
  3. Author byline — Human author credited (not AI)
  4. Meta data — Internal records of AI usage

Disclosure Format

AI Disclosure: This article was written by [Author Name] with AI assistance for research, outline generation, and editing. All claims and data were verified by [Author Name] against source material.

Content Quality Standards

AI-Assisted vs. AI-Generated

AI-Assisted Content ✅ Published

  • Human-written with AI helping with organization/clarity
  • Human author responsible for all claims
  • All claims fact-checked against sources
  • Example: "AI helped organize research into sections"

AI-Generated Content ❌ Not Published

  • Primary content written by AI system
  • Lacks human expertise or verification
  • Insufficient fact-checking
  • No human accountability

Author Accountability

Human Responsibility

Every article has a named human author who:

  • Owns all claims — Responsible for accuracy
  • Verifies sources — Personally checks all cited information
  • Takes corrections — Corrects errors if reported
  • Discloses usage — Clearly notes AI assistance used

No Anonymous AI Content

We do NOT publish:

  • AI articles without human author
  • Anonymous content
  • Unattributed analysis
  • Content without clear human responsibility

Reader Trust & Verification

Why We Disclose

  1. Transparency — Readers deserve to know how content was created
  2. Trust — Trust is built on honesty, not hidden processes
  3. Verification — Readers can more intelligently evaluate content
  4. Accountability — Disclosure creates responsibility incentives

No Penalties for AI Use

Using AI doesn't reduce article quality or trust if:

  • AI use is transparent
  • Content is thoroughly fact-checked
  • Author takes full responsibility
  • Claims are verified against sources
